Wires are a pain, especially with the way technology is evolving today. The wireless functionality of the K100 AIR is easily its biggest selling point, with good reason. Just be prepared to adjust to the smaller footprint of the K100. Our Gundam Barbatos was sailing smoothly through the maps, zipping and dashing between enemies with ease. Controls were incredibly responsive, even with the wireless connectivity.
Still, the keyboard did what it was meant to do when we hit the keys correctly. The keys are a little closer together than we're used to, and more than once, we fumbled, pulling up the scoreboard when we were trying to frantically launch our G-Maneuver. Much like with typing, it took some adjusting. Evolution has something of a learning curve as it is (though fans of similar squad shooters like Overwatch will take to it right away), making it the perfect place to test the responsiveness and accuracy of the K100 AIR. For our hands-on with it, we found there was no time like the present to fire up Gundam Evolution, a new squad-based free-to-play first-person shooter from Bandai Namco. This is a low-profile gaming keyboard, after all, and it demands to be tested under gaming conditions. Obviously, though, this isn't meant to be a typing workhorse. A row of four macro keys rest above the Numpad, which also double as connectivity hot swaps one to connect to the paired wireless adapter and three separate Bluetooth-enabled connectors.

Buttons to lock the Windows function, tweak the brightness and change profiles are situated on the right side, with many functions being configurable in Corsair's iCue software. A center panel houses a row of LEDs for status icons, including what type of connectivity the keyboard has available and a battery warning indicator. A row of media keys allows you to play and pause music and go to the next and previous songs, with a mute button and a volume roller placed next to them. The K100 AIR comes with all the accouterments you've come to expect from Corsair's keyboards. We used this keyboard on a clamp-on keyboard tray for an extended period and found it plenty roomy no knuckles brushing against the underside of the desk for us.
